Kupe
History tells us that Kupe was an explorer and a great leader but a very shellfish man. He drowned his cousin so he could have his wife but his tribe got really angry with him so Kupe quickly sailed to NZ and around Wellington. In his family he had his wife and two daughters. He came to New Zealand on a waka with his crew and their dogs called kuri. The dogs were used to hunt for food in new lands and could be eaten if their owner was starving. When they came to New Zealand they found a giant octopus. The octopus wrapped its tentacles around the waka and was going to flip the boat but Kupe threw a bunch of gourd containers which tricked the octopus into thinking it somebody that had jumped into the sea. He took it's tentacles off the boat and gave Kupe time to give him a swift blow on the head which killed the octopus.

Howick Historical Village.
On Thursday we went to Howick Historical Village. First, we went to communication school where we had to figure out different languages like Braille. Next was the school with a "very" strict teacher. Finally was a bunch of games that people played in the 1800s. I had a great day.
